
Dr. Tony Ubalde - 2010
Dr.
Ubalde is a retired pastor and a professor who served 37
years in the ministry with diverse congregations in San Francisco,
Sacramento, and Vallejo including African American, Chinese, Filipino,
and white congregations. He also taught as adjunct professor in
various colleges and universities such as the University of San
Francisco, City College of San Francisco, Los Rio Colleges, National
University, and Touro University in the field of Ethics, Comparative
Religion, and Philosophy. Dr. Ubalde also served as a Trustee of the
Solano Community College Governing Board. He served three terms in the
Governor’s Select Advisory Committee for the Regents of the University
of California. Tony is married to Carol Noel, now a retired classroom
teacher, and they have two grown sons, married and a grandson. (Updated

Alvin Leung - 2009
Alvin have been with the association
for four years and have enjoyed every moment of it. Outside of the
association, He is a Land Surveyor managing the survey department for
Phillippi Engineering in Vacaville. The volunteerism and community
service of our association’s officers, board members and volunteers are
second to none. It is all their transparent activities that one does
not see that makes the scholarship award celebration a huge success. He
is very thankful to all the CAASC sponsors and contributors that make

Bill Suen - 2008
Bill is a retired Restaurant Owner and an IT Technician.
He is also an educator in the Bay Area devotes his time six days a week
to educate the minority with computer knowledge in the last ten years.
His students are ranging from five years old to ninety-five. Besides
teaching, he spent much of his time for community works in the API
Organizations. He is life member of APAPA, OCA and a Board Member of
CAASC since 2003. He is the President of Sun Family Association and
Committee Members of other Benevolent in the Chinese Community. (Updated

Robert Emmet (Bob) Hertan, is a retired
USN, MSC, President, Human Performance Consultants, Inc. Assistant
Professor (Adjunct Faculty) Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU)
Extended Campus, Western Region; Chair, American Public
Transportation Association (APTA) Committee on Public Safety (COPS)

Shelmae Doo Turner
- 2006
Shelmae served as President for CAASC in 2006. She is our
News Letter Chair, producer and printer the CAASC Chinese New Year and
Scholarship Award Celebration Program Books. She has been working with her
parents at Allied Solano Printing for 23 years. Shelmae married to
David for 17 years and mom to Jacob 24, a Pastry Chef; Jami 23, She is
pursuing her Master Degree in Journalism
at San Diego State University, and Andrew 16 is a high school student. She has
been involved in CAASC for 10 years and in charge of the CAASC Scholarship Program
for 8 years. In the last 2 years,
she is busily involved with Andrew's school Band. (Updated

Beth Gasang - 2005
Beth Gasang served as CAASC President
for the year 2005. This is Beth’s 7th year helping out with
CAASC. She is also known to many as C.C. Yin’s Assistant & Community
Relations Director for Yin Liu McDonalds’s. She earned her Bachelor’s
Degree majoring in Economics. Prior to working at McDonald’s, she worked
for Wells Fargo Bank and ERA Realty. She has donated her time and been
involved in many community events in Solano County. Aside from
volunteering for the community, she also helped out at local schools
teaching after school programs and also spent some time teaching Catechism
at St. Mary’s Church. She also served on the board or as member of the
Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA),
Vacaville Cultural Diversity Fair, Fil-Ame, Asian Pacific Islander
American Coalition (APAC), served as CAASC representative in the joint
effort with Vacaville Museum’s exhibit, “A Long Journey Home” and CAASC
representative at the Solano Ji’An Sister City visit to Vacaville. On the
home front, Beth & Ed will be celebrating their 29th year
wedding anniversary in May 2007. Their son, Jay recently graduated from
UC Davis. The family will not be complete without mentioning the two pets
Shadow & Tubby. |
Thomas Tom
- 2003 & 2004
Thomas Tom was CAASC President for the year of 2003 & 2004.
He has been in Law Enforcement for 18 years and still going.
Tom and his wife Wendy have four beautifully children; Kevin 19,
Breanna 14, Kelsey 11 and Christopher 10. Tom is very caring father, he
always with them when he is not working.
He joined CAASC because he wanted to be a part of the organization to
serve the community and give supports to Asian Americans and the community
in general.
Tom is also a member of Northern California Asian Peace Officers
Association.
As San Francisco native, he finds Solano County is good place for a better
living and good atmosphere to raise a family, so he moved to this county
in the early 90s. |
Yu Sui (Patty) Yates -2002
Patty works as a Human Resources Assistant with the Federal Civilian
Service since 1975. She join CAASC in 1995 when it was just started.
She was born in Nanjing, China and follow her father to Taiwan when she
was only one year old. Grown up in a Military family and was
educated in Taiwan. After College she married to a U. S. Air Force Officer
and started a new life with a completely different culture and tradition.
Quickly she learned that family harmony is the best value in the free
world.
She is proud to be a part of CAASC and always worked hard to raise fund
for the CAASC's Scholarship Program. She also participates in the
Asian Pacific American Coalition Association and continue to contribute
her works to our community of Solano County |
